This High School facility brings a unique 5 wing footprint together to a commons area to serve over 1200 students in grades 9 through 12. In addition to the 5 wings, there is a full gymnasium with extracurricular weight and band rooms that terminates one wing. Another wing ends with automotive, construction, and agriculture/horticulture areas. With over 220,000 square feet of conditioned space and structural spans over 100 feet, this structure required a unique framing concept. The structure utilized structural steel framing combined with open web joist and joist girders, cold formed purlins, and load bearing concrete masonry walls to develop this diverse educational facility. Cast in place retaining walls also attributed to the construction to allow for changing grade elevations.
