This 70,000 square feet, four-story building was designed utilizing a vast array of building materials. With a 14 feet floor to floor height starting with a basement, this building has load bearing cast in place concrete retaining walls that are also utilized as lateral shear walls. Additionally, the above floors were designed with load bearing concrete masonry units (CMU) supporting a steel composite floor system. The CMU walls are part of the dual component lateral system. Above the steel framed roof system with an insulating concrete roof is an elevated steel frame system to support the robust mechanical requirements of this building.
